BEACH
Situated at the South end of Pinellas County, St Petersburg is the 4th largest city in Florida. Shorelines on Tampa Bay, Boca Ciega Bay, the Gulf of Mexico and intra coastal waterways provide the full range of housing options including beachfront houses and condos, waterfront homes, homes on golf courses, and a vast selection of neighborhoods and gated communities close to schools, shopping, hospitals, office parks, and the other amenities of large city living.
The City of St. Pete Beach is a barrier island community located West of St. Petersburg between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico. St. Pete Beach has a permanent population of over 10,000. The majority of residences are owned by people claiming their primary residence in St. Pete Beach, and the city is a popular winter residence for many others.
The city was incorporated in 1957 with the consolidation of Town of Pass-a-Grille, Town of Don CeSar, Town of Belle Vista and St. Petersburg Beach to become the City of St. Petersburg Beach. In 1994, the citizens voted to shorten the name to St. Pete Beach to lessen the confusion with the City of St. Petersburg.
St. Pete Beach is a major tourist destination, with substantial hotel and motel operations as well as many smaller, more intimate lodging facilities.
The Wall Street Journal, in March 2005, listed the City of St. Pete Beach as one of the top real estate investments in the southeast United States.
As a beach community and resort area offering both Beach front and Waterfront Luxury Homes and Condominiums available for residences, 2nd homes, and investment. The white sandy Gulf of Mexico beaches on the West and the Intracoastal Waterway to the East provide a myriad of water related activities for residents and tourists, including fishing, parasailing, shelling, and beach walking.
Several luxury neighborhoods and condominium communities are available on St Pete Beach.
Homes in St Pete Beach range in price from the mid $200,000's into the millions and include new construction, renovations, and rehabilitation.
The current real estate market provides many potential bargins including lowered sale prices, short sales, and foreclosures.
